Girls Empowered and Mentored To Success
G.E.M.S as we are called, is our way of paying it forward. Our girls begin their journey with us starting in the 6th grade and it's our mission to deliver them to a college campus upon completing high school. Our gemstones are mentored in discipline, motivated in passion, guided in advocacy and uplifted towards their future.
HOW ARE WE DOING?
We started this journey in 2007 with 35: 4th, 5th and 6th grade girls from several Dayton Public Elementary buildings. Over the course of time, our young ladies have been introduced to experiences with the Arts, Life Skills (cooking, cleaning etc..), Basic Etiquette Classes, Academic Success and Anti-Bullying Advocacy. Our ladies make a commitment once registered to allow the program to help support and sustain their journey to college. Upon graduation from high school, each young lady receives her GEMS Charm Bracelet and Keep Sake Jewelry Box.
To date we have graduated all 35 girls with the last young lady graduating this May 2022. As a total full circle we will also graduate the first 5 girls from their selected colleges also in May/June 2022. Please get your girls involved, WE KNOW HOW TO SERVE THEM.

Founded in 2008, our young ladies started on a journey to prove that girls from an urban setting Can Be and Can Do anything that they put their minds to including graduating from high school and graduating from college. Being a part of G.E.M.S is a lifetime commitment! Our precious commodity is the future of the young ladies that first represent their home, that represent themselves, that represent their communities.
It takes a special young lady to invest in her future at the age of 12, and stay the course that it takes to be "More precious than Rubies" (Psalms 31)
Our expectation for academic achievement, personal growth, and advocacy is the key to our success as a G.E.M.
